Alex Fisberg
Alex is a journalist, writer and social researcher. Graduated from PUC-SP, served as professional and volunteer in various social initiatives in Sao Paulo, Brazil, such as Instituto Sou da Paz, Um Teto para Meu País, Project Entreeducar (co-founder), Project Pólem Tutoring, focusing on topics such as education, housing, communication, public safety, social development and Community and Poverty. In 2009 he was selected as a social entrepreneur by the program IAM - Anhembi Morumbi Youth Initiative - in which participate in a course on social entrepreneurship in partnership with the International Youth Foundation and the Sylvan / Laureate Foundation. In 2010 was approved in the Social Change Leadership Development Program in Israel and India-LIFE, by which he went to India to write a paper on the impacts of migration on education and poverty as part of the south asian team of Aide et Action International. He works as a freelancer looking for initiatives that can transform poverty manifestations with the following motivation: there are already plenty of solutions to social problems that still persist.Spent 5 months in India five months (Outubro2010/Abril2011) researching the social sector, with emphasis on urban slums, housing, basic infrastructure and social development. At the same time, volunteered with the international team of Ayllu Initiative conducting a mapping of the social business in India. He specializes in Social Development and Poverty seeking to create a network of people and organizations that can contribute to the total eradication of poverty.
He spent the last 5 months working with international cooperation in Israel through the Weitz Center for Development Studies, an agency of the ministry of foreign affairs of the country. There, he had the opportunity to participate and contribute to a course in partnership with UN-Habitat called "Integrated Approach for Upgrading Slums" during the month of July 2011. Throughout his stay in Israel, he participated in a 4-day trip to Jordan to meet with different social initiatives. Toured several cities in the Palestinian Authority, involving himself with organizations that deal with Arab-Israeli conflict and several other civil society initiatives.

He also writes regularly to his personal blog, "Social Journalism" (in portuguese) where shares some of his experiences. He is the author of the book Life in the Death Camps ("Vida nos Campos da Morte", only in portuguese), published in 2010.
